For over 90 years, ULM has done a great job of meeting our students where they are, and helping them get to where they need to be. We've created great futures for them that have led to successful career paths. To help our students get to that point, we push them out of their comfort zone. We encourage them to participate in internships around the world. And they've proven time and time again, our students can compete with anyone. On coming in a nursing school, most of the time you do have an interest in the medical field. But you have a bigger interest in helping people and seeing them get better. We do spend time in class but majority of the time I'm in the hospital getting hands-on skilled training, and that's where we do most of our learning and spend most of our time. At ULM, there are so many great internship opportunities. When I was finishing my first year, I was selected as an intern and I went to Italy. I was able to take all my classroom knowledge and actually see it applied to real-life scenarios. I would never have had that opportunity unless I was in a program in a university that supported me and supported my dreams and goals.
